Saprae Creek
Saprae Creek is a hamlet in northern Alberta, Canada within the Regional Municipality (RM) of Wood Buffalo.[2] It is located 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north of Highway 69, approximately 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) east of Fort McMurray.On May 4, 2016, the hamlet was evacuated due to the growing fire to the southwest near the Fort McMurray International Airport.[9] As a designated place in the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Saprae Creek had a population of 572 living in 191 of its 215 total private dwellings, a change of -17.6% from its 2011 population of 694.[7] This Northern Alberta location article is a stub.
