She then represented the "Sunflower State" at the Miss USA 2004 pageant in Los Angeles, California on April 12, 2004, televised live on NBC.[2] After graduating from Blue Valley Northwest High School,[2] she attended the University of Kansas where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies.[2] Forbes is passionate about the American Quarter Horse, which she grew up riding, showing and training.[2] In 2006 Forbes appeared on the Paris edition of reality television show The Bachelor, but was eliminated in the first round.[4] She and Ashley Litton (Miss Missouri USA 2004) own a pageant shop in Shawnee, Kansas.
