According to the town's socio-economic profile in the year 1998, agricultural workers are greater in number reaching about 70% of the whole working force while the remaining 30% are engaged in non-agricultural occupations.Del Gallego has a port and operates daily to the Bondoc Peninsula and Batangas.Also due to its location between two Major town centers Sipocot and Tagkawayan it now serves as a rest stop.The municipality is connected with Manila by the Andaya Highway and daily rail services to and from Naga & Legazpi are provided by the Philippine National Railways.[18] A 420-kilometer, four lane expressway starting from the terminal point of the now under construction SLEX Toll Road 4 at Barangay Mayao, Lucena City in Quezon to Matnog, Sorsogon, near the Matnog Ferry Terminal.
