William Gordon (Ohio politician)
William Gordon (December 15, 1862 – January 16, 1942) was a lawyer, politician, businessman, and three-term U.S. Representative from Ohio from 1913 to 1919.Gordon was born on a farm near Oak Harbor in Ottawa County, Ohio.Gordon was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Oak Harbor.Gordon was married September 12, 1893 to Elizabeth Gernhard, daughter of the sheriff of Ottawa County.[2] He resigned from the Knights Templar in the late 1920s over their anti-Catholic stance versus Democratic presidential candidate Al Smith.
