William B. Mayo (politician)
[1] He then began attendance at the Homeopathic Medical College of the State of New York, from which he graduated as a Doctor of Medicine in 1877.[1] Mayo was a member of the Alpha Sigma Pi fraternity and an officer of the Vermont Medical Society.[1] In 1888, he was the party's unsuccessful nominee for secretary of state, losing the general election to incumbent Charles W.[1][2] Mayo was the Democratic nominee in the 1922 United States Senate election, and lost to U.S. Representative Frank L.[8][9] Mayo and his second wife were the parents of daughters Anna and Deborah and sons William Thomas, and Edgar.
