As of the 2020 United States census, there were 3,459 people, 1,289 households, and 987 families residing in the city.As of the 2000 census,[3] there were 4,111 people, 1,672 households, and 1,183 families residing in the city.There were 1,876 housing units at an average density of 592.1 per square mile (228.6/km2).25.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.Areas east of State Highway 87 are part of the West Orange-Cove Consolidated Independent School District and areas to the west of State Highway 87 are part of the Bridge City Independent School District.
