Watkins Abbitt Jr.

Watkins Moorman Abbitt Jr. (born October 20, 1944) is an American politician.[1] He was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1985 and served from 1986 until his retirement in 2012.Originally a Democrat, he switched to independent status in 2001 and started caucusing with the Republicans.Until 2012, Abbitt represented the 59th district in the Virginia Piedmont, including four counties and parts of three others.[2] Abbitt and his wife Madeline Ganley resided in Appomattox, Virginia.
