Takeso Shimoda

Takeso Shimoda (下田 武三, Shimoda Takezō, 3 April 1907 – 22 January 1995) was a Japanese diplomat who served as ambassador to the United States and a justice in the Supreme Court of Japan.[1] He was involved in the revision of the 1951 Security Treaty Between the United States and Japan.[2] Shimoda served as ambassador to the United States from 28 June 1967 until September 1970.[4] From 12 January 1971 until 2 April 1977, he served as a justice in the Supreme Court of Japan.[2] Shimoda died from heart failure on 22 January 1995 in Tokyo.
