Sierra Youth Coalition
Its stated mission is "to empower Canadians ages 14-26 to become active community leaders who contribute to making Canada a sustainable society.[2] SYC has various projects (Sustainable Campuses, Community Youth Action Gatherings, Sustainable High Schools, Education Fund) and campaigns (To the Tar Sands, Deconstructing Dinner Caravan).This tool was developed by Lindsay Cole as a Master's Thesis at Royal Roads University.The project also conducts greenhouse gas emissions inventories and functions via student leadership.HSCC trains youth to lead in-school greenhouse gas emissions audits using an online calculator, and develop strategies and actions to reduce the ecological impact of the school institutions and activities.
