[5] Usman made his One Day International debut against Scotland on 14 August 2016 in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship.[6] In April 2017, Usman scored his maiden first-class century in round five of the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup against Papua New Guinea.[7] In January 2018, he was named in the United Arab Emirates' squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament.[8] In August 2018, he was named in the United Arab Emirates' squad for the 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier tournament.[10] In September 2019, he was named in the United Arab Emirates' squad for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament in the UAE.
