[2] He made his List A debut in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship on 31 July 2015 against Nepal.[4] He made his first-class debut in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 9 August 2016 against the United Arab Emirates.[6] In July 2019, he was selected to play for the Edinburgh Rocks in the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam cricket tournament.[9] In September 2019, he was named in Scotland's squad for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament in the United Arab Emirates.[12] In March 2022, Watt was re-signed by Derbyshire County Cricket Club to play in the 2022 T20 Blast in England.
