María Vallet-Regí (born 19 April 1946) is a Spanish inorganic chemist.As of 2012, she heads the Smart Biomaterials group at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.[1] She studied chemistry at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) and received her Ph.D. there in 1974.As of 2012, she is a full professor of inorganic chemistry and head of the research group Smart Biomaterials in the Department of Inorganic and Bioinorganic Chemistry of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.She was the most-cited Spanish scientist, according to ISI Web of Knowledge, in the field of Materials Science in these past decades.
