Kameyama, Mie

Kameyama (亀山市, Kameyama-shi) is a city located in northern Mie Prefecture, Japan.[2] Per Japanese census data,[4] the population of Kameyama has increased slowly over the past 50 years.During the establishment of the modern municipalities system in the early Meiji period, Kamayama-juku was organized into the town of Kameyama within Suzuka District.Kameyama has a mayor-council form of government with a directly elected mayor and a unicameral city council of 18 members.In terms of national politics, the city is part of Mie 2nd district of the lower house of the Diet of Japan.
