Hauraki District Council

Hauraki District Council (Māori: Kaunihera o te Rohe o Hauraki) is the territorial authority for the Hauraki District of New Zealand.[1] The council consists of the mayor of Hauraki and 13 ward councillors.[1] The current mayor is Toby Adams.[2] Adams was re-elected unopposed in 2022 for a further three-year term.[3] The council was established in 1989 from the merger of Waihi Borough Council (established in 1902), Paeroa Borough Council (established in 1915), and Hauraki Plains County Council (established in 1920).
