[1] The station was part of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) North Main Line before its closure in the 1980s.[2] The station is parallel to McArthur Highway, and it is near to the San Ildefonso Church and to the Municipal Hall.The original railway station, then known as the Estacion de Guiguinto, was inaugurated in 1891 under Manila Railroad Company.It was upon this site that the Katipuneros ambushed a train from Dagupan, killing six friars, including the parish priest of Guiguinto, Fr.[4] It later became part of the Philippine National Railways's North Main Line.
