François Lake Provincial Park
It is about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) off BC Highway 16, southwest of the town of Fraser Lake.The decision was a result of the recommendations of the Vanderhoof Land and Resource Management Plan.Ties to the history and to its ownership have been claimed by the Office of the Wet'suwet'en Hereditary Chiefs and the Carrier-Sekani Tribal Council.The area is an ancient site where the First Nations people used to hunt, fish and gather.The lake's shore are covered with scarce stretches of low-elevation old-growth forest.
