Fort Mitchell is a home rule-class city[4] in Kenton County, Kentucky, United States.Fort Mitchell was the site of one of seven Civil War fortifications built for the Defense of Cincinnati.[6] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.1 square miles (8.0 km2), all land.Full-time male workers had a median income of $41,358 versus $29,873 for females.Almost all of Fort Mitchell is within the Beechwood Independent School District, a public K-12 institution.A small portion to the southwest is in the Kenton County School District.
