East Oolitic, Indiana

East Oolitic is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Shawswick Township, Lawrence County, Indiana.East Oolitic was originally called Spien Kopj, in commemoration of the Battle of Spion Kop in the Second Boer War.[4] Oolite is a type of limestone found in the area.[5] East Oolitic, Indiana is located in Lawrence County approximately two miles north of Bedford, and one half mile east of Oolitic.The United States Census Bureau first delineated East Oolitic as a census designated place in the 2022 American Community Survey.
