Dave Thompson (American football)

David Wayne Thompson (born February 1, 1949) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive lineman for five seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints.He was selected by the Lions in the second round of the 1971 NFL draft after playing college football for the Clemson Tigers.David Wayne Thompson was born on February 1, 1949, in Langdale, Alabama.[2][3] Thompson was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round, with the 30th overall pick, of the 1971 NFL draft.[4] In March 1976, Thompson was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 1976 NFL expansion draft.
