Charles E. Stewart Jr.

Born September 1, 1916, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, Stewart received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University in 1938 and a Bachelor of Laws from Harvard Law School in 1948.During World War II, he served as an Army Captain in General George S. Patton's tank corps, and won the Bronze Star.[2] Stewart was nominated by President Richard Nixon on June 15, 1972, to a seat on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York vacated by Judge Sidney Sugarman.His service terminated on October 28, 1994, due to his death in Poughkeepsie, New York.This biography of a federal judge in the United States is a stub.
