Asahan Regency

Following the creation of the new Batubara Regency (which was carved out of Asahan Regency on 15 June 2007), the regency now covers an area of 3,732.97 square kilometres; it had a population of 668,272 according to the 2010 census[2] and 769,960 in the 2020 Census;[3] the official estimate as of mid-2023 was 802,563 (comprising 405,617 males and 396,946 females).The regency is divided administratively into twenty-five Districts (kecamatan), tabulated below with their areas and their populations at the 2010 Census[2] and the 2020 Census,[3] together with the official estimates as of mid-2023.[1] The table also includes the locations of the district administrative centres, the number of administrative villages in each district (totaling 177 rural desa and 27 urban kelurahan - of which 25 are in the town of Kisaran), and its postal code.Note: (a) including one kelurahan (Aek Loba Pekan).This North Sumatra location article is a stub.
