[1] He grew up in Oamaru, North Otago and was a pupil at Waitaki Boys' High School.[1] In 2009, he won the Hong Kong International Bowls Classic pairs title with Richard Collett.[6] In 2020, he was selected for the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Australia but the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic[7] During the same year won the national singles.[9] The following year in 2023, he finished runner-up to Aron Sherriff in the singles at the 2023 World Bowls Indoor Championships.[11][12] In the pairs with Tony Grantham, they reached the quarter finals before losing to eventual winner Ireland.
