2023 Boeing P-8 Poseidon runway overrun

On November 20, 2023, a Boeing P-8A Poseidon operated by the United States Navy overran the runway and ditched into the Kāneʻohe Bay.The aircraft damage is substantial and its airworthiness is still being evaluated to determine if it can be restored to operational condition. It was manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 2020 and was powered by two CFM International CFM56-7B27E engines. After going past the runway, the aircraft traveled a short distance in the water and turned to the left before coming to a halt.[10][11] On December 2, a team of the United States Navy, Marine Corps, and some contractors successfully recovered the Poseidon using inflatable salvage roller bags.
