1966 Cannes Film Festival

The 19th Cannes Film Festival was held from 5 to 20 May 1966.To honour the festival's 20th anniversary, a special prize was given.[4] The Grand Prix du Festival International du Film went to the Signore & Signori by Pietro Germi, in tie with Un homme et une femme by Claude Lelouch.[2] The festival opened with Modesty Blaise, directed by Joseph Losey and closed with Faraon, directed by Jerzy Kawalerowicz.[5] The following people were appointed as the Jury of the 1966 film competition:[6][2] Feature films Short films The following feature films competed for the Grand Prix du Festival International du Film:[3] The following short films competed for the Grand Prix:[3] The following feature films were screened for the 5th International Critics' Week (5e Semaine de la Critique):[7] The following films and people received the 1966 Official selection awards:[2] Short films
