Wikipedia quickly outpaced Nupedia, which ceased operations in 2003. The project's growth was fueled by its "neutral point of view" policy and its commitment to remaining a non-commercial, donation-funded entity. By 2007, the English Wikipedia had surpassed the historical Yongle Encyclopedia in total volume, establishing itself as a dominant force in digital information.
