Guangzhou Football Club was a professional football club based in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. Founded in June 1954, the club played its home matches at various venues throughout its history, most notably Tianhe Stadium and Yuexiushan Stadium, and later Huadu Stadium. Its majority shareholders included Evergrande Real Estate Group and Alibaba Group.

Throughout its history, the club experienced multiple periods of restructuring, relegation, and promotion. In 1993, the club became one of the first fully professional football teams in China following a takeover by the Apollo Group. After facing periods of stagnation, financial difficulties, and involvement in match-fixing controversies in the early 2000s, the club was acquired by the Evergrande Real Estate Group in 2010.

Under Evergrande's ownership, the team achieved unprecedented success in Chinese and Asian football. Guangzhou won seven consecutive Chinese Super League titles between 2011 and 2017, and added another title in 2019. On the continental stage, the club won the AFC Champions League in 2013 and 2015, qualifying for the FIFA Club World Cup in both years.

Following financial difficulties experienced by its parent company, Guangzhou was relegated from the Chinese Super League after the 2022 season. After competing in subsequent lower-tier seasons, the club was officially dissolved after the 2024 season due to its inability to repay high debts.
